Check out the crew profiles of some recidivists to get a feel for the vibe aboard Ronja…

Markus

Sociable, good communicator, respectful, enjoy teaching, committed, friendly, polite, trustworthy, open minded, enthusiastic, easy going, sense of humour, enjoy cruising, enjoy cooking, do-it-yourself maker, good with maintenance, yacht owner.

I’m a part-time extrovert who enjoys connecting with people and conversations with friends. I’d like to consider myself good in teamwork, communication, exchange, and teaching; skills which come in handy both aboard a yacht and in a club. I’m adaptive when it comes to plans; and like to alter them whenever the situation requires. I love active, sportive and endurance sailing; best in a calm, relaxed and stress-free fashion (Kudos to two memorable sailing instructors along the way). As a day-time member of the engineering guild, I don’t have any restraints from dealing with tech gadgets, onboard electronics, or mechanical systems (such as the engine, even though my favourite mode of propulsion comes with a rigg). I’m easy-going, respectful and curious, thus always up for exploring countries and cultures, preferably through their cuisine. No matter whether in real-life or in the constraints of a galley, I’m a passionate cook, who loves (the challenge of) great coffee and is always up for a sundowner. Finally, I like to see the world through the lens of photography.

RYA Day Skipper, aiming at the Coastal Skipper. I would like to practice, gain experience, log miles and talk with other boat owners.
I am a rock climber and a certified technical diver: you can trust me to follow instructions and pay attention to details. I’m planning to buy a sailboat for me to live on in the years to come.

Confident swimmer, rarely/unlikely seasick, good listener, good communicator, no body piercings, travel light (little luggage), respectful, clean & tidy, committed, eager to learn & work, fit & healthy, friendly, polite, LGBTIQA+ respectful, diligent, positive outlook, skilled, organised, discreet, trustworthy, open minded, enthusiastic, easy going, sense of humor, can pay own expenses, available on my own, enjoy cooking, don’t mind cleaning, good with maintenance, can follow orders, enjoy teaching, interpreting, buy my own boat one day, live on little money, learn a language

I sailed 1 month through the Baltics in August 2020, from Estonia to Germany. In total we covered over 1200 nm and worked in shifts of 4 hours during longer voyages. The longest single voyage was 260nm with 2 full nights. 2021 I’ve sailed 2 weeks as 1st mate along the finish coast on Ronja, an Avance 245, fitting in a new battery system and water tank during the trip. Shortly after I’ve been 1st mate on a one week cruise through the Eolian Islands. In May 22 I crewed 10 days on a 66 ft CNB cruising the cannaries. I’m always looking to gain more experience sailing, eventually become a skipper myself.

I’ve travelled extensively in my 20’s, worked a few weeks on sailing boats in the Whitsundays and was trained as a divemaster in the bay of islands NZ. Instead of following my heart to cross the pacific on a sailing boat, diving the most remote spots in the world, reason took over and I returned to Europe to study international business (MSc/MBA) which took me abroad again to Spain, Brazil and Denmark. Since April 2020 I focus on own projects around web, marketing and media. I currently live in Porto / Portugal.

I enjoy everything on and in the water plus photography, motorbikes, yoga, writing and playing guitar. I’m a quiet person, thought- and respectful, clean, can cook, know how to fish and will make sure to support you with any boat tasks that can be expected from a crew member.
